A London cable dated January 12th, announces the death of the Primate of Ireland. An amended notice appears to-day from the poundkeeper at Cheltenham. Messrs Gorton and Son will hold their usual stock sale at Bulls to-morrow. Messrs Abraham and Williams hold their usual monthly stock saleatPohangina to-morrow. Mr C. H. Whitehead offers a reward for a brown gelding, strayed from Mr F. Y. Lethbridges on Saturday last. A new advertisement from Mr J. P. Cowie, of the Makino store, will appear to-morrow. On Monday, the 20th instant, Messrs Gorton and Son will hold a great clearing sale at Mr W. Baker's near Colyton. During the ensuing month Mr Beckley, of Sherborne House, will offer the whole of his stock of drapery, etc., at greatly reduced prices for cash, in order to clear the balance of his summer goods. With to-day's issue we publish an " inset " drawing attention to the sale. Messrs Spence and Spence have been fortunate in securing a magnificent lot of prints and flannelettes at less than English manufacturers cost.
