THE STORY OF A MURDER. A MALAY'S MURDEROUS ASSAULT. (Per Press Association.) Perth, Jan. 4. [ A miner named David Thomas, who surrendered to the police at Bamboo Creek, stated that he had murdered his mate James McQueen. They had quarrelled over some' liquor which McQueen had forcibly taken from the others in the camp, and Thomas shot him dead. After failing to burn the body he had buried it. Thursday Island, Jan. 4. j A Malay boatswain ol the steamer J Tsinan ran amuck, and murderously assaulted the first and second officers of the vessel. Sydney, January 5. Arrived — Anglian, from Auckland. Sailed, yesterday — Hauroto, for Wellington. Melbourne, Jan. 5 Arrived, yesterday — Mararoa, from Bluff .
