The Licensing Law.

(Per Press Association). Auckland, Dec. 19. In three cases of alleged breaches of the Licensing Act, arising out of the evidence given by certain seamen at the inquest and trial for murder of the : Kanaka killed on the Railway wharf, | the Magistrate, Mr Northcroft, said the j evidence was very unsatisfactory, but I he would dismiss the cases. He said the witnesses had deliberately lied I either in the murder case or the licensing cases. Mr Northcroft then 1 stated that in a first case of conviction for a breach of the Licensing Act \ he would wipe out the license in the Licensing Court if his voice had a say in the matter.
