(Per Picess Associotion.) Stpbit, This Day. Major»General Hutton, in his report to Parliament, says that samples of the Magazine rifles suitable for service in Australia including the latest pattern of the Lee-Metford rifle have been ordered from England* and on their arrival a recommendation of the Commandant for the appointment of an intercolonial committee will be considered with a view to decide upon the pattern of a rifle for general adoption.
