Manawatu Athletic Protection Association.

The annual general meeting of the Manawatu and West Coast Athletic Clubs' Protection Association was held in the Club, Palmerston N., last night. Twelve clubs were represented. Mr Mellsop occupied the chair. The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows : Hon. secretary Mr J. C. Prendergast ; committee Messrs Sherwill, Bailey, Matheson, Pyke Dickson, Webster, Bowater; auditor A. G. Carty. It was decided that the following dates be fixed for the secretaries of the various clubs to receive members' supscriptions, if not paid by that date such member to be declared a defaulter. December Ist— Cricket, Bowling, Cycling, Harriers, and Athletic Clubs. January Ist— Tennis and Polo. June Ist— Football and Golf. Votes of thanks to the promoter of the Association, Mr Prendergast, and to the chairman concluded the meeting. — Standard.
