Meeting at Pohangina.

A meeting of town ratepayers and members of the Pohangina Small Farm Association No. 2, was held here on Saturday last, Mr Selby in the chair. Proposals for loan for the town and Association were brought forward and freely discussed. A letter was read from the Commissioner of Crown Lands urging the Association to do something to roading tbe district at once, or otherwise he would have to get it done and charge the settlers. Mr Wagstaff brought forward a schedule of works to be done in tbe town at a cost of about £1000, thus modifying previous proposals. Ultimately it was resolved— l. Moved by Mr Vile, seconded by Mr Baylis, That the Association raise a loan for making roads hi the Association Block independent of the town. Carried unanimously. 2. Moved by Mr Thompson, seconded by Mr W. Hitchman, That tbe town raise a loan as per Mr Wagstaff's proposal. Carried unanimously. — Standard.
