A. G. Tame and Co., Wellington, re port on their Saturday's horse sale:We had only a very small entry in tin yard of harness horses and hacks. Th stallion Prince Arthur was bred by th ( Hon Matthew Holmes at Awamoa, an< is by that great Clydesdale horse Crowi Prince. He was withdrawn at 150 gmn eas. We also submitted the Clydesdali stallion colt McGregor, bred by Mr Jno Donaldson, of Oamaru. He is by Ren frew Jock, and was also withdrawi at a shade less than his companioi Prince Arthur. It is seldom such horses of this quality come this way, and as they are now for private sale an oppor tunity is afforded breeders of securing two magnificent animals. We sold use_ ful harness horses from £8 to £11 ; aged horses abont as usual- Enquiries were made for good, young, sound draughts. We quote good, young, heavy draughts L24t0L28, and even more for extra good ; medium. Ll6 to L2O ; express and harness horses, LlO to Lls. Matthew Henry reports of his Paimerston sale on Thursday :— A fair muster of both sheep and cattle made np the day's entry. The attendance good, but bidding for sheep at the openin" was quiet. For young cattle the de mand seems improving, resulting in a fair clearance. All sheep were cleared during the day at quotations. CattleGrown steers, to L 4 15s ; fat cows, L 5 Is ; yearling steers and heifers, ols to 85s; weaners, 203 ; dairy cows, L 4 15s. Sheep — Forward ewes and wethers, mixed, 9s 9d ; fat ewes, 9s to 10s : cull ewes, 2s lid ; hoggets, os 6d to 6s 9d.
