The Colonial Bank.
PROPOSED AMALGAMATION WITH BANK OF NEW ZEALAND. (Per Press Association). Wellington, August 31. The Post to-night says:—" The halfyearly period of the Colonial Bank closes today, aud as soon as balances are struck negotiations will probably be commenced with the Bank of New Zealand for amalgamation. It is expected that terms can be arranged in time to lay an agreement before Parliament before the cud of September."
