Bible Reading in Schools.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, August 28. A deputation from the city school committees* interviewed the Hon. Reeves tonight, asking whether Government would the advisableness of making pro Vision for Scripture reading in public schools. It was suggested that the Irish national test book would probably suit requirements. The Hon. Reeves in reply said the subject was one which required cautious treatment. Government could not possibly deal with or even consdier the question this # ession, and it would therefore be idle for him to make the deput ation any promises. When the proper time came Government would not burk the question.
