Kesolutions were carried in favor of — Valuations for rating purposes being made by Government so as to secure uniformity and avoid, inequalities and consequent injustice ; the refund to the Treasury of balances of unexpended loans, receiving in return debentures ; ha\vker3 not contributing to county revenue being prevented from competing with Jobal traders; number of cattle slaughtered by farmers not being allowed to exceed 20 small or 8 large per week. A uaofcien was earned urging on Government the desirability of County Councils keeping a record of all loans raised with the respective counties, with fall particulars re loan and proposed ratiUg area, etc, T- ' -A.- -motion "Was carried that provision be made in the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act ; if found impractable or inadvisable to expend on public works the full amount of the loan balance, it be repaid to the Treasurer, and the latter return to local authorities debentures to corresponding amount. Resolved that power be asked for ! Local Bodies to prohibit the planting of ] cyorgreen ttees. withiu the specified dis- ' tance iron} the northern ancj western boundaries of theiroad reserves. "•> •
