The following team will represent the Birmingham Football Club in their match next Wednesday against the Red Stars ou the Oval, in Feildiug :—Fullback, Scrimgcour ; three-quarters, Fauthorpc, Foster, Barlow ; halves, Whitehorn aud W. Barlow ; forwards, W. Bell (captain), Ross, Brough, Sruiler, E. Bell, Yitsky, J. Soles, Morau aud Tollcy. The football match, Manawatu v Wellington, was played at Wellington on Saturday. Tho weather wa« bitterly cold and occasional showers fell. Mr Firth was referee. The whole of the first Hpell was confined to theManawatn 25 yards, aud just before the whistle sounded for half time Galloway, for the local men, crossed the Hue but no addition was made to the score. On changing sides the Wellington team were again soon on the aggressive, and had the visitors penned down near tho line. McKcnzie by a good dodgy ruu, crossed the line and touched down bchiind the posts Baumber placing an easy goal. No soouer was the game resumed than Swindley whipped across, but the attempt at goal was a failure. The local men still had the visitors iv trouble, aud in a few minutes Roberts crossed the liuc, but Swindley failed to increase the score, and the game ended in a victory for Wellington by 14 points to nil. Auckland defeated Waugauui at Auckland on Saturday, by six points to three.
