A Perilous Experience.
(Per Press Association.) Cheistchubch, July 10. Meeservie and son, the crew of the ketch Annie, found waterlogged at the Heads yesterday, have turned up safely. Messervie reports the vessel was lying inside Pigeon Bay heads at 6 p.m. on Monday last when she parted her cable. A strong westerly gale was blowing at the time, and the ketch drifted on to the rocks. Thinking she would go to pieces he and his son, a lad eleven years old, leaped ashore at the Southern head. They managed to secure the dingy, which had broken loose, and, having failed in the attempt to climb the rocks where they landed, they got into it and pulled along the shore until they reached a spot where they could climb the hill. It was then very dark and raining heavily. They arrived at Pigeon Bay about 4 a.m. on Tuesday in a very exhausted condition. The lad was so knocked up that his father had to carry him on his back for a portion of the way. The craft is a complete wreck.
