_ .»_ _ 1 Per Press Association | Auckland, June 22. Dr Lawry died of pleurisy after a brief illness. He was the son of Rev. Mr Henry Lawry. The Committee of the Auckland Rescue Work Society, in response to an invitation from the Minister of Justice, had a bill drawn embodying legislation, which they consider necessary to cope with the social evil, and the establishment of a Reformatory Bill, which will be sent to Wellington for Ministers' approval and the introduction into the House. Mr Hammond, of Symond street, was found dead in bed. His age was S4. Tlio directors of the New Zealand Insurance Company have declared an interim dividend for the past half year at the rate of 12§ per cent per annum. A similar dividend was declared for the corresponding period last year.
