Australia's Financial Position.
o (Per Press Association).
Mklrouknk, June 19. The Age snys tbat though the local money market is fully supplied, ancl tlie satisfactory improvement in demand is suggestive of the return of confidence, it is strange that while outsidors, interested in the Australian financial positiou, are inclined to take a more hopeful eiew of tlie future, in England, where it should be most marked, there still exists a feeling of doubt as to how to successfully solve the difficult ploblem of settling with foreign creditors. There is already a slight indication on the part of the latter not to press their claims too urgently, and there seems to be a growing disposition on this side to obtain concessions; which, if granted in time, will have a material influence iv the future. It seems to be gene rally acknowledged tbat with the low prices of produce ruling tbe colonies cannot afford to pay the same rate of interest for private borrowings as when the lancl yielded a better return.
