FUKTHER FIGHTING EXPECTED. FORMOSA SEEKS ASSISTANCE FROM SPAIN. [Per Press Association.! Shanghai, May 27. The Japanese fleet is mobilising off Tamsui, a Treaty port on the north-west coast of Formosa, and fighting is expected shortly. May 28. The Republic of Formosa has been proclaimed by the inhabitants as hostile to Japanese annexation, and has asked for protection from Spain.
