A LUSUS NATURZE.
TO THE KDITOII OK THK STAR. Sir, — It is usual among Britons to shake hands and bury the hatchet the day after the battle has been fought and M'on. It was my desire ancl intention so to do the moment the fight was over. Mr W. A. Sandilands, however, is of a different opinion. In his letter which appeared in your issue of the day after the poll, when everyone knew the result, lm says, inter alia, — " To your correspondent, Mr C. L. Maclean, I would remark that although lie left mo sitting-, the period ot incubation hr.s parsed ciml a substantial majority has been hatched out." Hatching out we all know is the ordinary result of incu- i bation when the hen has been assidu ous. But it is not slightly anomalous t!;at the hatcher out — as in this instance — should be a crower 'I I am, &c ., C. L. Maclean.
