Attempted Murder at Paikakariki.

(Per Press Association). Wellington, This Day. A shooting affair occurred at Paikakariki last night, as a result of which Thos. Edward Mclntosh, a guard in the employ of the Wellington Manawatu Railway Company, has been arrested on a charge of attempted murder. It appears Mclntosh had been drinking in an hotel early in the evening with a number of Maories, among whom was one named Mutu Abraham. Mclntosh and Abraham had words, and the former then went home Abraham's story is that he went along to Mclntosh's house a couple of hour's later to apologise, when the latter fired three shots at him from a revolver. One struck his toe, and another entered his left shoulder and passed out through the arm. None of the wounds are very serious.
