EXIT GOVERNOR HOPETOUN. (PEB PRESS ASSOCIATIONS Melbourne, March 26. Lord and Lady Hopetoun took their departure to-day for Home. The occasion was marked by a public holiday and the departing Governor and his wile were accorded a most brilliant send off. Bunting was flying everywhere the route from Government House to the railway station was lined by many thousands of people. Altogether it was a great display of enthusiastic loyalty. Perth, March 26. A great rush has set into Lake Darlot. The original prospector dollied 2000ozs of gold in eTght weeks. Sydney March 26. The third reading of the Eight .Hours Bill was moved in the Legislative Assembly to-day. The dedate was adjourned. Brisbane, March 26. A ballot is being taken at Hughenden Station on the questions whether the rouseabouts Bhould accept 24s per week or engage through the Pastoralists' Union. A strong impression prevails that a strike will take place in May.
