Stock Market.
At Messrs Gorton and Son's stock sale yesterday, at Marton, the yards were so crushed that the firm had, by Mr R. E. Beckett's courtesy, to use his pens. The entries numbered 4000 sheep and 60 or 70 head of cattle, the attendance was fairly large, but would doubtless have been better if the stock bad been more largely advertised. There was only one lot of cattle and a few pens of sheep sold under the hammer, though a good deal of business was done after the sale, there being more tban half the total number of sheep quitted. The following prices may be quoted :— Cattle — Weaners, 28s 6d. Sheep — Wethers, 6s 3d to 7s 3d ; ewes, 2-tooth, 5s 2d to 5s lOd : fat, 5s 2d to 5s 5d ; aged, Is 6d to 2s 9d. Pigs— sa to 20s
