The Wreck of the Mail Steamer Oroya.
(Per Press Association). London, March 6. The Oroya grounded three hundred yards from the shore in trying to turn in the gale. She lies •with a list to seaward. The waves have stove in the port holes and have broken the skylights over the decks. She is severely strained and bumping heavily. She narrowly escaped touching a reef of jagged rocks. The landing of passengers was effected with difficulty, and amid much excitement. Later. The weather continues bad and the Oroya is now lying broadside on, with a list to seaward, in a, critical position. The tug could not succeed in moving her, and the cargo will be discharged as soon as possible. _____
