Easter Temperance Demonstration.

A meeting of delegates from the various temperance organisations in Feilding met in the Temperance Hall yesterday afternoon for the purpose of making the 1 necessary arrangements for a temperance demonstration in Feilding on Easter Monday. Present — Mesdames F. Y. Lethbridge, J. C. Thompson, G. C. Hill, Miss Dalryrnple, of the Women's Christian 1 Temperance Union ; Messrs A. William 1 son, of Halcombe, representing the District 1.0. G.T. Lodge ; W. Bloomfield and J. Jacobs, local 1.0. G.T. Lodge; W. G. Shearer, J. Greenwood, and S. Andrew. Prohibition League ; Captain Renshaw, of the Salvation Army. Mrs Lethbridge was voted to the chair. Besolved, That arrangements be made for a tempsrance demonstration in Feilding (on the Oval) on Easter Monday. Mr S Andrew was appointed secretary. Resolved, That Mr Shearer be requested to instruct a choir in the prepara tion of glees. Resolved, That the Salvation Army Band be invited to attend and head the procession through the town to the Oval. Resolved, That Messrs Greenwood, BioomfieJd, and Ranshaw be a committee to act with the secretary in cominunicat. ing with gentlemen to be invited to address the gathering. Resolved, That the various temperance bodies in the district be invited to join in the procession. Resolved, That a shilling concert be given in the evening to assist to defray expenses. Resolved, That Messrs Greenwood, Shearer, Williamson, and Andrew be a concert committee. Resolved, That the executive committee consist of Messrs Shearer, J. C. Thompson, Bloomfield, Williamson, the Rev W, Dawson, Mesdames Thompson, Lethbridge, and the Secretary. The names of severalgentlenien were suggested 133 speakers, including Sir R. Stout, Bey L M. Isitt, Messrs R. Crabb, Carson, and Atkinson, who will be cgluujuniGated wish at oqce and invited to attend. This was all the business transacted and the meeting adjourned to Monday week, at 7 p.m.
