(Per Press Association). London, February 9. The Japanese ships left Chefoo without sustaining any damage, and landed a force 10 miles off Chefoo, attacking the Eastern forts. The Chinese have corrected the credentials of the peace envoys and the latter will resume negotiations for peace. Fourteen Chinese torpedo boats which were in Weihaiwai escaped to sea. The Japaucse hotly pursued them and sank twelve. The Chinese force at Lieukungtan fought desperately though without effect. The Japanese troops are now being conveyed by transports to Chefoo. The news of the defeat of the Chinese is confirmed. Shanghai, February 10. The Japanese have captured Ninghan.
