The Frozen Meat Trade.
(Per Press Association.) London, December 27. Weddell 's annual report states that the meat export trade fram the Australasian colonies has largely increased during the past year, but it is difficult to maintain even the present moderate net returns, as irregular supplies have caused serious losses. The report urges upon the respective colonies to regulate the movements of vessels oarrying frozen meat in accordance with the state of trade, Hamburg is referred to as forming an excellent base for pioneer movements to establish trade between the Colonies and Continent, and a hope is expressed that direct trade will be opened up with Trieste, the meat being re* tailed in Vienna, where successful business is being built up. The prospects of the trade in France are less hopeful. It iB evident Belgium must import meat to a considerable extent.
