It is reported the Chinese fleet shelled the Japanese troops marching along tho coast to Port Arthur. It is also stated the two fleets have had auother engagement, but the result is unknown. It is reported China has intimated her intention to offer an indemnity of 100 million tales, and to pay Japan's war expenses. At the Port Arthur cugagemcut the Chinese refused to accept tho assistance of the Red Cross Society, urging that they had no desire to be saved, aud the wounded cheerfully accepted their fate. Japan has replied to President Cleveland's offer to arbitrate that she will listen to the Chinese appeal when it is made di)_uct. The President has vow withdrawn his oiler to arbitrate. Sydney, November 22. The steamer Port Hunter, wbich had completed her loading for London, has been purchased by the Japanese Government, and her cargo has been transferred to auother steamer. The Port Huuter sails for Yohohama on Saturday.
