Palmerston Caledonian Sports.
The sports to bo held at Palmer.stou to-morrow, mulev the auspices of the Caledonian Society, promise to bo a success, and given fine weather those who attend are likely to spend a very enjoyable day. There are a largo number of nominations for the chief ovents, including most most of the well-known " cracks " on this coast. " Athlete " sends us the followiug tips for the principal ovents : — Glasgow tlaudicap, first event, 120 yards. — &. Poole 1, J. Boyce 2, H. Knight 8. Glasgow Handicap, second event, 220 yards.-A. W. Watts 1, J. Boyce 2, E. Smith 3. Hurdles, 220 yards.— This will be a good race between A. "W. Watts and H. Cameron. I expect to see Watts win. Palmerston Handicap, 440 yards. — R. Williams 1, H. Knight 2, R. Jarrett 3. Palmerston Handicap, second event, 880 yards -H. Woon 1, J. Deruugs 2, M. Daley 3. Mauawatu Handicap, one mile.— J. Derungs 1, F. Hunt 2, E. Woou 3. Walking, 2 miles. — F. W. Leslio 1, R. Jarrett 2, T. Ryan 3.
