(Per Press Association.) M klbourne, October 16 Bruiu executed a splendid gallop, finishing lengths in front of Loyalty at the termination of a mile and a half negotiated in 2miu 42£ sec. Loyalty is a notoriously bad track horse, but Bruin's performance is really an excellent one, and ho finished well. Ruenalf had the best of Patron and Tarcoola over a milo and a half run in 2m in 40sec. Hova, Dreamland. Cobbity, Malachite, Bobray, Bluecap, Killiecraukie, Solanum, Maroon. Krouborg, and the Amateur put in some good work. Charles Ettridge, engaged to ride Loyalty during the Spring Meetings, has been refused a license by the Victorian Jockey Club. Devon, the winner of the Toorak Handicap, has been re-handicapped for tho Melbourne Cup, and increased by 71b. The weight will therefore be 7st 121 b. At Caulfield this morning Selim, with a light weight up, dfel a mile and a half in 2min 44sec. Lady Trenton did a mile and a quarter in 2inin ISAsec. Bonnie Scotland beat Bessie Macarthy over a mile and a half in 2inin 47^sec.
