(PKE PRESS ASSOCIATION.) London, October 5. The weekly returns of the Bank of England, published to-day, show the total reserve to be £27,892,000, and the proportion of reserve to liabilities 68-10. Consols, 10H. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 106 ex interest ; b£ per cent, do., 101. New Zealand long-berried wheat, ex warehouse, nominal, 245. The market is weaker and flat; South Australian wheat, ex warehouse, 245; Victorian, 23s 6d. New Zealand frozen mutton— First quality. 3jjd ; second do., 22d. Lamb— First quality, s|d per lb. At the hemp auction there was a fair demand, but no New Zealand consign, inftnts were sold. Sugar— German beet, 10s lsd ; Java, weaker, 18s 3d. Danish butter is unaltered. At the wool sales competition was animated, and the Americans are buying more freely. The Bridgewater brand realised Is Id per lb.
