Wreck of a Barque.

THE CAPTAIN AND TWO SAILORS DROWNED. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION ) Auckland, This Day. The barque Alexander Newton, bound from Port Stephens to Napier, was wrecked on Sunday Jast. There was a fresh breeze and a thick fog just before the vessel struck, and on the fog lifting the captain found the vessel too close in- | shore, and heavy seas breaking on her she struck. Captain Harwood, Baker the cook, and Hendrick A.8., were drowned. Captain Harwood was at the wheel when the vessel struck, and was the sport of the waves for a considerable time before being washed overboard and drowned.
