Wool Duties in the States.
m (PEB PHKSS ASSOCIATION.) Washington, June 15. Tho Senate, by 37 to 29, rejected n motion to restore the McKinley rate on wool. The other proposals with regard to wool duty are before the Senate and the debate continues. Certain modifications to suit the wishes of the Republicans have been adopted, but the question of the admission of raw wool into the United States free has not yet been voted on. The Senate's refusal on Friday last to put a duty on raw wool is generally regarded as an indication that it will remain on the free list. June 16. The Senate, by a majority of two votes, has rejected the amendment fix ing the tariff rates at lesa than half of those imposed by the McKinley tariff.
