The Sydney Wool and Produce Journal, writing in .reference to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, says : — According to the Press cables, the new Board consists of Mr Edward Martin, of Turnbull, Martin, and Co., one of the largest shipping firms in London ; A. C. Garrick, late of Sydney, brother of Sir James Garrick, Agent General for Queensland ; H. J. Gibbs, of Anthony Gibbs and Sons, a director of the Bank of England ; W. W. Oswald, director of the National Bank of Australia, Ltd. ; and J. Beaumont, late of Christchurch, New Zealand. It will thus be seen that the Board is an exceptionally strong one, composed of practical business men.
