Messrs Nolan, Tonks, and Co., report as follows :-At Hawera on the 29th ult. the yards were well filled. Bidding was spirited, but for female and young stock competition was poor. At both Mauaia and Opunake a fair number of cattle was yarded. We quote: Cattle — Weaners, mixed, 25s to 28s ; yearling steers, 455 ; 18-mouth to 2-s*ear steers, £4 to £3 4s ; 21 year bullocks, £'d 15s to £1 5s : forward bullocks, £4 14s ; fat ami forward, £5 Us ; 18-mouth heifers, £2 ss ; cows in calf, £S 2s 7d to £8 ss ; cows ami calves, £3 15s; fat cows, I*3 18s io £4 M2s 6d ; springers, £4 5s to £3 «s. Sheep— Lambs, shorn, 4s 3d to 4s 6d ; 2-tooth ewes, 8s 3d ; f .f . mouth ewes, 4s ; forward ewes, 6s; fat ewes, 8s; fat wethers, 9s 6d. The Egmont Fanners' Union (Limited) report; We bad a fair master of stock at Stratford on the 30th ultimo. Quotations : Cattle Fat and forward steers, £4 9s to £4 15s ; cows and calfs, £» 10s ; heifers, in calf, £$ 2b Od to £6 15s ; springers, £4 2s 6d. Our usual fortnightly sale was held in the Glover toad yards on the 4th intst. We quote — Cattle - Fat bullocks, £5 15s to £6 Is ; fat cows, £3 15 to £4 Is ; forward bullocks, £o 4s to £6 10s ; 18-months to 2-year steers, £S 7s 6d to £3 15s; 15 to 18-month steers, J& 14s to £2 17s 6d ; springers, £4 to £6 ss; heifers, in calf, £2 155.
