The Minister for Lands, accompanied by Miss McKenzie, arrived in in Beefton last night from Westport. At the Police Court to-day, Johnston, of South Duiiedin, was fined 20s and costs for neglecting to stamp a receipt. David Miller for exporting improperly stamped butter was fined i's aud costs. A six-roomed wooden house in South Dunedin, owned and occupied by John David, lias been burned down. The insurances are : — House, £200 ; furniture, £150, both in the Standard office.
