A meeting of the newly formed Kiwitca County Council met at noon to-day, when all the Councillors were present, and Mr Reid was elected chairman. The proceedings will be published in our next issue. Notice is given to-day by Mr George C. Hill, Returning Officer, that the nomination of candidates for the election of a Councillor to fill the seat lately occupied by Councillor Morey will take place at the Borough offices ou Wednesday, the 28th instant, and that a poll if necessary will be taken on the 6th of March. On Wednesday next, the 21st instant, a magic lantern entertainment and lecture will be held iv Short's Hall, the proceeds of which arc to be devoted to the Wcsleyan Sunday School Library. There will be amusement for old and young, as the entertainment abounds in comical aud laughable sketches taken from various subjects, while the lecture will be found both instructive and amusing. As the object for which the j entertainment is being given is a deserving one Short's Hall should be crowded to the doors.
