I « I Per Press Association. Haweiu, November 3. The Egmont Fanners' Union, Limited, held the first of their series of pure-bred stock sales (in future to be held annually the dav following the Egmout A. and P, Show) in their new Horse Bazaar yesterday, and the results were most en> couraging. The chief feature of the sale was the pure-bred shorthorn bulls bred and offered on behalf of Mr A. A. Fantham which sold as follows :— The champion stud bull Oxford Duke 4th, Mr J. Winks, Normanby, 55 guineas ; No. 2, light roan, Mr W. J. Sarten, Waitara, 25 guineas ; No. 3, roan, Mr Knuckle, Waitara, 24^ guineas ; No 4, roan, Mr A. E. Russell, Paliaerston North, 25 guineas; No. 7, red, Mr Huwes, Waverley, 37 guineas ; No 8, red, Messrs W. and S. Gower, Patea East, 20 guineas; No 9, red and white, Mr Shields. Patea, 28,| guineas. Mr Livingstone's Poled shorthorn bulls were very much admired, but, being a new breed, did not sell readily, though two of them were quitted, one at 12£ and the other at 12 guineas. Two purebred Berkshire boars and five sows, offered on behalf of MrFanthaiu, realised 3k and 4 guineas respectively. A 12 stone hack, offered on behalf of Mr Hislop, Normanby, was sold to Mr J. Hall, Onehunga, for 20 guineas.
