[Per Press Association. | Melboubnk, October 23. Pulvill executed an excellent Derby gallop on Saturday at Montone. At Flerainglon this morning Loyalty and Launoeston ran a mile in lmin 40sec. Penance and Dickens traversed a mile and a half in 2min 51sec. Portsea and Patron did a serviceable mile and a half. Patron has improved wonderfully in tho last few days. Several thousands have been taken about Loyalty for the big event at 100 to 7, causing him to harden to 100 to 8. A wager of 2000 to 120 has been taken about Oxide, and 1000 to 45 about Tim Swivel let-. Over £2000 has been taken about Brockleigh at 100 to 3, and £3000 about Tarcoola at 200 to 5. A special meeting of the committee of the Victoria Racing Club is called for 11 a m on Wednesday to consider the appeal against the decision of the stewards in dismissing the protest lodged against Tim Swiveller in the Caulneld Cup. A penalty of 141 b has been imposed on Tim Swiveller for the Melbourne' Cup, bringing his weight up to Bst lib; 71b on Brockleigh, brings his weight up to 9st; and 31b on Port Admiral, bringing his up toßst 51b.
