The Chamber of Manufactures has passed a resolution thanking the Premier for his opposition to the New Caledonian cable, and expressing confidence that an early agreement will be entered into between the Colonies, Canada, and England, to subsidise a British -Pacific cable. Brisbane, October 8. The revenue for the quarter ended 90th September is i' 1,842,700,, 842,700, being a decrease of X' 63,800. A decrease is evident in almost every department. Adelaide, This Day. The meetings of the Science Congress have concluded. A vote of thanks was passed to the N Z. Government for proclaiming Resolution Island a reserve for the protection of native fauna, and it was decided to ask the other colonies to take similar action.
