(PEK PBES3 ASSOCIATION.) Blenheim, This Day. The football match between Wellington and Blenheim was won by the former by 19 to 6. Auckland. September 7 The police believe they haye a clue, through the clothing, to the discovery of another infant placed last uight on the verandah of James Stmpkin, coal dealer. In the darkness Simpkin thought the bundle a dog, and going to kick it off the verandah, found it was a baby boy. Dunkdin, September 7. The health of Bishop Moran has slightly improved during the past few days, but he is still in a most critical condition. Wellington, September 7. In the Magistrate's Court W. Thomas bricklayer's laborer, was the defendant in an action to recover a sum of money on a promissory note. Defendant swore that he could neither read nor write, that he had neyer given the promissory note. He acknowledged, however, under pressure from the Bench, that he had signed the statement at the time of his committal for trial. Mr Martin, R.M., gave judgment for plaintiff with costs, and directed the police to lay an information for perjory against Thomas.
