Thk victory of Mr Cadman over his opponent Mr Heoß must bo accepted as the public verdict of Auckland, if not of tho whole colony, that Mr Cadman was in no way to blame lor his connection with the land transaction of which Mr Rees made so much fuss, Mr Cadman has had a double victory. He won his case in tho Supreme Court at Napier, and now he ban won it again in Auckland. We never doubted for one moment the strict honor of Sir Cadmau, uor did any others who knew the man, and his splendid record of the past. We are opposed politically to Mr Cadman and the party to which he belong*, but that makes no difference to us where tho man is concerned, and we heartily congratulate him on his substantial victory.
