Your directors recommend the payment of a dividend of 5 per cent per annum on the paid up capital of the company. Drainage work on the Makerua swamp has been started again, and so far good progress has been made. Messrs McCarthy and Smith retire by rotation from the directory, and offer themselves for reelection. The net traffic proceeds for the year amounted to £49,984 19s lid, and the net profit of the railway account (available for dividend) was £7258 17s 9d.
