Lpsr united pbess association, j Syjmjey, January 7. The Coalminers' Delegate Board has decided to take a ballot of all the miners on the question of the present dispute. The decision will not be known till next week. The Lambton miners unanimously passed a resolution, which was sent to the other branches, giving 14 days' notice of their intention to increase the present hewing rates by 4d from the Ist February. The Delegate Board haa approved of the action of the West Wallsend miners in resisting the reduction, and has granted the men strike pay. January 8. The motion for a writ of mandamus ordering the Collector of Customs to permit a free passage of goods into New South Wales until the Bill imposing the new duties has been passed by Parliament, was agreed to. To-day the Court refused the motion on technical grounds. Melboubne, January 7. It is virtually settled that Mr Munro will take the Agent-Generalship, Mr W. Shiels becoming Premier and Colonial Treasurer. January 8. The schooner Templar has foundered off Cape Paterson. The captain and crew are believed to have perished,
