An adjourned meeting of officers o: the Nelson volunteers will be helc there on Saturday eveniug to make final arrangements about the Easlei encampment. A rifle club is about to be formed in Palmerston. The following is extracted from a from Nelsuu, re the proposed Eastor encampment : — The officers ami men of the Nelson district have decided to held an encampment at Richmond Park at Easter, going into camp on the Thursday night and breaking up camp on E ister Monday evening. The Government are not to be put to expense either for ration . money or otherwise. The 2/6 per day provided for by the Regulations will not be granted, therefore volunteers must pay the cost of their rations, Is 3d per day. Each corps to provide its owu cook. Officers will be messed •at a reasonable rate. Corps to bring their own cooking utensils where possible. Transport for baggage from Nelson will be provided.
