BOWLINd.

Three teams from the Waiuku Club journeyed to Whangarei, for the purpose of taking part in the Bowling tournament there, and met with a very fair meausure of successMayosmith, G. Mearns, E.. Barribal, Jack (s), 6 wins, 1 loss. Lost in semi-final to Coburn (Whangarei), who lost to Hill (St. Helier’s) in the final.

Greenhead, D. Neil, Christianson,, Coote (s), 4 wins, 3 losses, two of which were lost by 1 point each. H,. Barriball, James, D., Barriball, A M. Barriball (s), 1 win, 6 losses, three of which were ties. This team consists of first year’s players, with the exception of the skip. Mr R. T. Reid, chairman of the Town Board, had the misfortune, during the week, to lose a large stack or tray, estimated at 30 tons oy fire, at his farm in Glenbrook- Mr Reid was in Auckland at the time, ana aitnough the neighbours turned out in force the fire had such a hold they could not even get two large stack covers off, and they were both burnt.. The stack was insured, about £30,. but it will be a big loss Fortunately, Mr Reid has a big stack left over fqom last year, or the loss would be more keenly felt. The Town Board are advertising free distribution of rat poison, but so far the residents are very slow in taking advantage of same, only some three or four having procured a supply. The Board are poisoning all along the creek, and it is only a fair thing the residents should do their, share, as all it will cost them, is a little energy..
