PAST THE BLOCKADE

Despite the British blockade, German products have been reaching Brazil by way of Russia and Japan, large parcel post shipments received at Rio de Janeiro recently revealed. By means of railroad shipment through Russia and transfer to Japanese steamers in Japan, the goods eluded the blockade. However, most of the three truckloads of merchandise which arrived was of an. expensive nature, the cost of which made shipment by the parcel post route feasible. The nature of the cargo indicated the Qermans have found it impossible to ship heavy goods through the blockade to South America, even via Russia and Japan.
