GERMAN SAFETY ZONE

BOHEMIA AND MORAVIA

LONDON, October 4.

News reaching London shows that the Berlin authorities have made Bohemia and Moravia a safety zone for people evacuated from Berlin. Many public buildings and private houses have been requisitioned, and in one district arrangements have been made to house 170,000 German civilians.

The Czechs have been ordered to evacuate in one district 28 villages and in another 22 before the end of the year to make room for Berliners. The German Government's anxiety to evacuate Berlin is not shared by many citizens, whe fear there is not going to be as much food in Bohemia and Moravia as in the Reich.
