BOWLING

The bowling season in. Wellington will begin tomorrow afternoon with the openings of the Seatoun and Newtown Clubs, which will be attended by Mr. T. Lock, president. Wellington Centre, and other centre officials. The Paekakariki Club will also open. The majority of the clubs will open on Octtober 12 and the remainder on October 19. As there has been an abundance of sunshine and a marked absence of wind during the winter, permitting of a good growth of grass, it is expected that, generally speaking, the playing surfaces will be in firstclass order.
