Basil Dean's film masterpiece on■•■;th* life of Mozart and his wife, featuref that sensitive young English actor, Stephen Haggard as Mozart, and Victoria Hopper (Mrs. Dean jti private) at his wife. A great deal of the'film wai taken in Austria, with the wonderful co-operation of the Austrian' nation. Famous buildings were used, including the Palace of Schonbrunn, in the private theatre of which Mozart used to conduct. In Salzburg, a crooked little street called Steingasse was' utilised, and the Britishers were allowed to photograph the scene of Mozart playing the organ in St. Peter's. Church, and the celebration of high ihass; in the church. Dr. Paumgartner, of the Mozart Institute, gave great help to the producer. In; the actual film the London Philharmonic Orchestra,-, conducted by Sir Thomas Beecham; it heard in incidental music and excerptj from "Figaro" and "The Magic Flute.
