MARE'S USEFUL FAMILY
bunny Koe is the dam of a voiy usclul iamily, among her winning proscny being bunny Sky, Sunny Song, Sunny Bachelor, and Sunny Maid. The last three named have all been winners during the past fortnight. Sunny Sky, Sunny Song, and Sunny Bachelor are engaged at the Novelty Bay Meeting tomoirow. At the Poverty Bay Meeting on October 28, 3933, two of her progeny, Sunny bKy and Sunny Bachelor, won races. At tlie same club's fixture last October, Sunny Sky ian a fiist and a second on the lust day, and on the second her daughters, Sunny Song and Sunny Sky, both won.- At Wairoa last Thursday, Sunny Song was successful, and at the same meeting on Saturday both Sunny Song and Sunny Bachelor were inners. These four performers are all owned and trained by E. Fitzgerald, of, Gisborne. Sunny Maid, another'of the progeny of Sunny gpe, won the Knitoke Handicap, .beating Emissary, at'Trentham on January 26 Sunny Sky, Sunny Song, and Sunny Bachelor are by Hunting Song. Sunny Maid, a four-year-old, is by Psychology, as is also Sunny Blonde, a three-year-old daughter of Sunny Roe, who has not yet raced. ' / _ Mr., F.-; Hall bred' Sunny Eoe, and he1 is also the breeder of all of her progeny; The successful mare, is 'by Sunny Lake (son of Sundridge) from Meny Roe, by Soult (son of-St. Simon) from Gray Eoe* oy;St. Hippo (eon 'of -St. Leger) from the Trenton mare Ellerslie and goin<» back to iLady Chester, 'by Stockwell. ° * KING FLIGHT SURPRISES King Flight, winner of the Putaruiu Stakes at MataniataMast Saturday, was having his first race, and ho leturned a dividend of over tluee-quaiters of a century on the win totalisator, on which there was only £8 invested on his chance, and he was the outsider of the field bar one. This novice is a two-year-old chestnut colt by King Lv from a male by Swift Flight, an imported son of St. Martin and- the sire of some useful sprinters in the noith, including the Kailway winner Awaiere. He is owned by Mr. Al. Hirst, for whom he is being trained at Te Aroha 'by J. F. 'Eva, and *ho was ridden by tho lightweight horseman W. H. Jones, who is ehortly-lcaving fof 'Australia <md India.
