AFTERNOON PARTY
VISITORS ENTERTAIN -
Charmingly./arranged.-.-bowls of gladioli -in varying ■shades i -decorated the! Palm Lounge off the Hotel: St.George yesterday/afternoon, when '.a number pf friends wete' entertained1 "by Mr. and Mrs. O; H. M6Cornack and Mr. and Mrs. G. Behh, of Detroit, who aro spending some: months in' NeW Zealand. The first part of the afternoon was ■dovoted to bridge, which was played in an adjoining room,', where .beautifully floured gladioli and branches of copper
birch were attractively blended. , Mrs. McCornack wore a smart frock of sand coloured "Jnarocain , with/ a cluster of clocolate brown flowersiiin the centre of the corsage? Her email hat was of the same shadeof brown.- Mrs. Behn wore a frock and three-quarter coat of smoke grey georgette with yoke of needle-run lace,-and a grey hat.-Mrs. McCoinack's daughter, Mrs. Pat Ward, who assisted as hostess, was in a pale sage green marocain suit with wide yoke and cuffs of trellised: marocain. Sho wore a wide brimmed hat of- beige Bangkok straw. Several extra guests arrived to tea, which, was served at small tab^s in the Palm Lounge, and the men folk joined the party, at 5 o'clock. The guests included.Mr. and Mrs. Macarthy Reid, Mrs. Bernard Wood, Mr. Pat Ward, Mrs. J. B. MacEwan, Mis. and Miss Webster, Mr. and Mrs. J. /Duncan, Dr. and Mrs. C. Morice, Mrs. H. M.
