SCHNEIDER AFFAIR
LONDON, 4th February. Lady Houston has written a letter to Mr. F. Montague, Under-Secretary for Air: "Poor Mr. Montague, it must bo a bitter pill for you to swallow, after doing everything to dish our airmen and prevent them taking part in the Schneider Race, to find you now dished yourself by a woman's patriotism. Not understanding the psychology of a Socialist Minister, I imagined I might receive your congratulations. lat least thought you would attempt to behave as a gentleman.',' Sir Philip Sassoon, former Undersecretary for Air in the Baldwin Cabinet, speaking at Folkestone, said that he did not think that even Mr. Montague would have met Lady Houston's generous offer with such-a contemptible display of prejudico and bad temper.
