GENEROUS OFFERS

Among many generous offers of assistance received by the Bed Cross Society is one from the staff of the: Precision Engineering Company, Ltd., who have donated their picnic funds of £25. To this sum the company added a further £25, and the full £50 was spent in food, loaded on a lorry lent by ' Messrs. M'Queen an.d Knight, and dispatched for Napier under the Bed Cross aegis, a member of the Precision Company's staff being the driver. Messrs. David M'Crae have given 24 mattresses and 40 pillows, to the Bed Cross, and the ladies of Waikanae, under Sister Mowbray, have collected food and blankets, which will be picked up by a Bed Cross car at Waikanae this afternoon at 4 o 'clock. < ' Food lias also been collected at East- i bourne -tinder Bed Cross direction, and ' was to be sent over by tho 5 o'clock boat to-night.
